Antonio Figueroa, AIA

Antonio recently came to LHPA with extensive experience in urban planning, public design and construction with US and European firms. He has held the post of Deputy commissioner in New York City, where he was responsible for a $1 billion capital program. Antonio has also worked at a major engineering firm where he was responsible for managing over $100 million in construction and managing two New York City offices.

In his own New York City practice, Sanchez and Figueroa Architects and Planners, for 15 years, Antonio was responsible for design and planning of housing, correctional facilities, colleges, schools and the NYC Courts Master plan. He worked with with New York State Urban Development Corporation to coordinate planning of Lysander and Audubon, two new communities in upstate New York. Antonio also worked with European developers to design a new community in the Canary Islands for 10,000 residents on 9,000 hectares of ocean front land on an island with no existing infrastructure.

Antonio’s experience in planning and urban design is augmented by his understanding of the mechanics of constructing projects to fully realize their design.
