Fulton Street
Subway Station Restoration New York, NY
|
The Fulton Street Subway Station, originally designed by Heinze & Lafarge, is a NYC Landmark Station and its restoration program brought the polished white tiles and ornate terra-cotta panels, illustrating the Fulton Ferry Steamboat, back to their original condition. This project also involved working with environmental artist Nancy Holt whose public art piece, entitled Astral Gratings, was incorporated into the new ceiling system of the station.
Services included architectural design with a strong emphasis on restoring and preserving existing materials, exhibition design, circulation planning, upgrading of mechanical/electrical systems and technical inspection for water damage or other structural problems. |
